Sports Betting FAQ
What's the minimum I can bet?
Varies by platform and market, typically as low as ₱10–50 on most PH sportsbooks.
What is live/in-play betting?
Betting placed after a match has started, with odds updating in real time.
How do I know a sportsbook is legitimate?
Check its license directly against PAGCOR's public registry — don't rely on a badge image alone. See our OKBet review for how we verify this.
Can I lose more than I deposit?
No, on standard fixed-odds betting you can only lose what you stake.
What do decimal odds actually mean?
Decimal odds show your total return per ₱1 staked, stake included. A ₱100 bet at 2.50 returns ₱250 if it wins: ₱150 profit plus your ₱100 back. Our guide to reading betting odds converts decimal, fractional and moneyline formats.
Why do the odds on both sides add up to more than 100%?
Convert each price to an implied probability (1 divided by the decimal odds) and the total comes to more than 100%. The extra is the bookmaker’s margin, also called the vig. It is why you need to win more than half your even-money bets just to break even. See understanding the vig.
Are parlays a good bet?
A parlay pays more because every leg must win, but the bookmaker’s margin applies to each leg and multiplies across them. A four-leg parlay usually carries a much bigger edge against you than four single bets. The maths is in our parlay explainer.
What is Asian handicap betting?
A handicap market that removes the draw by giving one side a goal head start, sometimes in quarter-goal lines that split your stake across two outcomes. Read how quarter lines settle before you use them.
Why is the same bet priced differently on different sites?
Each bookmaker sets its own margin and reacts to its own customers’ money, so prices drift apart. Taking the best available price on every bet adds up over a season. See line shopping explained.
How much should I stake per bet?
Most disciplined bettors stake a small fixed share of their betting budget, often 1–2% per bet, so a losing run cannot wipe them out. Read our bankroll management tips, and the Kelly criterion if you want the formula.
Is online sports betting legal in the Philippines?
PAGCOR is the Philippine gaming regulator, and only operators it licenses are confirmed legal for players in the Philippines. You must be 21 or older. Sites licensed offshore, for example in Curaçao, are not PAGCOR licensed, so check before you deposit using our PAGCOR licence guide.
Why is my withdrawal taking so long?
The usual causes are pending identity checks, an unmet wagering requirement on a bonus, a payment method that does not match your deposit, or a manual review on a large win. We cover the four real causes and how to clear each one.
